Transfer of the tower to the mounting site On Sunday March 28, 2010, another important step in the NRG Patagonia Project was fulfilled with the transfer of the three lengths that make up the tower, which will have a total height of 70 meters and a weight of approximately 120 tons.

In an operation that required a coordinated logistics structure, carts were moved from the Comodoro Rivadavia port area – in Chubut Province, Argentine Republic – to El Tordillo, an oilfield located 70 kilometers from the city. The maneuver began at 7:30 a.m., to conclude shortly after 5 p.m. the same day.
The traffic operative demanded a meticulous action in order to affect as little as possible the normal traffic on Routes 3 and 26, having completely accomplished the objective regarding the security goals posed for the transfer.
Three lengths of different dimensions were moved, each one weighing 55, 40 and 28 tons.
It is worth recalling that the three tower lengths were entirely folded in the local Workshops hired NRG Patagonia to that end, as well as the assembly and verification of the aerogenerator components.
The benign day of earliest autumn, with winds that calmly gave way to the steel structure, made possible to complete the transfer on site with the unload of the three lengths.. There the cranes were allotted the task of putting down the metallic rollers, completely finished and painted, in location, waiting for their definitive assembly, expected over the next few weeks.
In summary, it was a new step in this project that continues germinating the seed of a new industry in Patagonia Argentina.
